About

ATC’s story began with a simple idea: being athletic does not belong to athletes alone.

Athletic Training Centre

ATC’s story began with a simple idea: being athletic does not belong to athletes alone.

Performance is not only about running faster, jumping higher or lifting more weight in a competition. Sometimes it is being able to climb the stairs with ease, sometimes still feeling energetic at the end of a long day, and sometimes keeping your freedom of movement as the years go by.

We call this performance for life.

That is why we do not see ATC as merely a place where people train. We are creating a movement space that brings Pilates, fitness, yoga and other movement disciplines together with a scientific approach, technology and skilled trainers.

We use technology not to turn our members into numbers, but to get to know them better. We track the training process, observe progress and combine the data we gather with our trainers’ experience.

Yet at the centre of all this there is still the person.

We want to create an environment where, when you walk in, you feel part of a professional system without feeling like a stranger. A structure in which your trainer knows you, knows your goals and cares about your progress.

Because at ATC, movement is not just the length of a class.

Movement is a part of life itself.

Our Vision

To create a culture in which movement is a natural part of life.

At ATC, our vision is to make exercise more accessible, sustainable and personalised by bringing together a scientific approach to training, technology and the experience of skilled trainers.

We aim to build a structure that grows without compromising on quality, offers the same experience at every location and brings movement culture into more people’s lives.

Because in our view, performance is not only needed when you compete. Climbing the stairs, playing with your child, working, travelling; in short, you also need to feel strong, mobile and well in the middle of life.

ATC’s future is built on bringing better-quality movement into more people’s lives.

Our Mission

We believe that every person’s needs, goals and movement capacity are different.

Our mission is to offer our members a safe, sustainable and high-quality exercise experience by combining scientific training principles with technological tracking systems and a strong team of trainers.

While bringing Pilates, fitness, yoga and other developing training disciplines together under a single movement culture, we do not separate professionalism from warmth.

At ATC, technology helps us get to know you, science helps us set the right path, and our trainers help us walk that path together with you.

Our aim is not only for you to move more, but for movement to become a natural part of your life.

What does performance for life mean?

The language of gyms is very often built on records, transformations and tough targets. That language motivates some people; it leaves many others outside before they have even walked through the door. We describe performance from a different place: the value of training shows itself in the hours after you leave the gym.

What we call performance for life is the sum of everyday moments:

  • Not feeling strained when carrying shopping bags or climbing the stairs.
  • Still finding the will to move in your body after a long day spent at a desk.
  • Being able to join in a game, a walk or a trip comfortably with your child, your grandchild or your friends.
  • Being able to keep doing the things you love as the years go by.

This description does not make the goal smaller; it simply brings it closer to your life. Whether someone is preparing for a competition or has been inactive for years, the starting point is the same: moving forward from where you are today, in steps that suit you.

Why are we not limited to a single discipline?

ATC is not defined as a Pilates studio, a fitness gym or a yoga centre. That is because the body’s needs are not limited to a single discipline; goals, phases of life and preferences change over time. Someone looking for control and balance can start with Pilates, someone who wants to bring strength into daily life can train in fitness, and someone who needs to slow down and return to their breath can turn to a yoga practice.

Rather than offering these disciplines separately, we bring them together under a single movement culture. Disciplines may change and new ones may be added, but the story ATC tells does not change. Whichever class you join, you will meet the same approach: a system that tries to get to know you, a planned programme and a trainer who walks alongside you.

If you do not know which discipline suits you, you do not have to work it out on your own. You can find a general comparison on the Disciplines page, and in the introductory meeting you can tell us about your goals so that we decide together.

What kind of environment will you find at ATC?

A premium experience and a friendly environment are often thought of as opposites. We try to build the two together. We base this on three foundations:

Scientific approach

Programmes are not random; they are planned according to training principles and in a way that suits your level.

Technological tracking

We monitor the process, observe progress and interpret the data together with our trainers’ experience.

Skilled trainers

Your trainer knows you, knows your goals and cares about your progress.

We have explained in detail how these three headings work in day-to-day practice on the Our Approach page.

Our values

Vision and mission statements only gain meaning when they are reflected in everyday decisions. At ATC, whether we are planning a programme or running a class, we look to the same five values:

  • People first: System, equipment and data are all there to help us understand the person in front of us better. None of them replaces the relationship between trainer and member.
  • Quality: We want growth only to the extent that it is possible without compromising on quality. The quality of a class matters more than how many people came that day.
  • Sustainability: Rather than programmes that wear you out in a short time, we stand for a routine that fits into your life and that you can keep up for years.
  • Warmth: Being professional does not mean being distant. We want to create an environment where you are greeted by name and your questions are taken seriously.
  • Openness: We explain what we do and why. We share your progress with you and do not make promises we cannot keep.

Who is ATC for?

Do not let the word “athletic” in our name mislead you: ATC was not set up for athletes alone. Our door is open to anyone who wants to make movement a part of their life. It is not possible to fit our members into a single profile; even so, there are a few situations we come across often:

  • Those who have never started exercising, or who have started and stopped many times, and want to make a proper start this time.
  • Those who work long hours, are short of time and want to make good use of the few hours a week they can set aside.
  • Those who have been exercising for years but want to make their programme more planned and trackable.
  • Those who care about keeping their freedom of movement as they get older.
  • Those looking for a team that knows them, rather than crowded and anonymous gyms.

None of these situations may fit you exactly; that is not a problem. We will define your starting point together.

What will not change as we grow

In our vision we speak of a structure that “offers the same experience at every location”. For us, this phrase is less a growth target than a description of a responsibility. New disciplines may be added, programmes may become more varied, ATC may move to different locations; but the approach that a person meets when they walk in must stay the same.

For this reason we tie the way we work to principles, not to individuals: every member starts with an initial assessment, every programme is based on a plan, every process is tracked. Whichever trainer you work with and in whichever discipline, these three steps do not change. Consistency is the foundation of trust; and without trust it is hard to build a lasting movement habit.

Brand, philosophy and call

Everything ATC says rests on three short sentences. The language you see on the sign, on social media or hear during a class comes from these three:

  • Brand: Training for life.
  • Philosophy: Performance is part of life.
  • Call: Start moving.

These sentences are not a list of promises but a point of view. Instead of stock phrases such as “discover your strength” or “be the best version of yourself”, we prefer to talk about what movement means in everyday life.

Let’s start together

You may never have exercised before, or you may be coming back after a long break. What matters is not where you start from, but that you start from the point that suits you. Through a short initial assessment we learn about your training history, your goals and the points that need attention; then we decide together on the discipline and the way of working that suit you.

We have answered some of the questions you may have on the Frequently Asked Questions page. To talk about the rest, all you need to do is write to us.

Be ready for life.

You don’t need to know which discipline suits you. Tell us your goals and we’ll work out the right discipline and training format together.
